Job Overview:

Global Subsurface Solutions (GSS) operates as a worldwide entity within Subsurface, delivering high-quality and impactful technical solutions to tackle critical business challenges across BP's oil, gas, and low-carbon sectors.

The Eastern Hemisphere team engages in activities across more than 10 nations, working on diverse projects such as deep-water production in the North Sea, early field development offshore West Africa, and extensive waterflood initiatives in the Caspian Sea and Middle East. Our focus spans all reservoir types, where we characterize reservoirs and recommend adjustments to depletion strategies while supporting BP's expanding Low Carbon initiatives.

As a Senior Reservoir Engineer, you will leverage your extensive reservoir expertise and classical engineering techniques to gather field data, ensuring thorough analysis and integration into the team's existing knowledge base to guide decision-making and plan appropriate reservoir management and monitoring activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with Regional teams to provide and coordinate technical insights for the ADP, including the evaluation of development alternatives and identification of key triggers/dependencies for resource advancement.
  • Offer technical support and guidance in project execution and resource development.
  • Oversee and conduct simulation modeling studies in partnership with the Global Modeling Team.
  • Perform classical reservoir engineering analyses.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary reservoir assessments.
  • Assist in the creation of well planning deliverables.
  • Contribute to the long-term production forecasts and analyses.
  • Support resource appraisal studies, benchmarking, regulatory reservoir engineering support, RDOL, RPP, RMP, and risk-based surveillance planning.
  • Mentor junior team members.
Qualifications for Success:

In addition to possessing a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Petroleum Engineering or a related field, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment to achieve technical results.
  • Proficiency in classical (IAM suite, PIE, etc.) and modeling (TDRM, Petrel) reservoir engineering tools.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) across various organizational levels.
It is advantageous to also have:
  • A history of building networks across different functions.
  • Familiarity with subsea production systems.
  • Understanding of BP's ADP and project progression methodologies.
  • Experience in articulating and assessing cross-functional uncertainty analysis and its implications on development strategies.
Why Choose BP?

  • Opportunities to engage in social communities and networks.
  • Access to learning and development opportunities to shape your career trajectory.
  • Comprehensive life and health insurance, along with a medical care package.
