Global Subsurface Solutions (GSS) operates as a worldwide entity within Subsurface, delivering impactful and high-quality technical solutions to tackle significant business challenges across BP's oil, gas, and low-carbon sectors.

The Eastern Hemisphere team engages in projects across more than 10 nations, encompassing a variety of initiatives such as deep-water production in the North Sea, early field development offshore West Africa, and extensive waterflood projects in the Caspian Sea and Middle East. Our work spans all types of reservoirs, focusing on reservoir characterization and recommending adjustments to depletion strategies while also supporting BP's expanding Low Carbon initiatives.

As a Senior Reservoir Engineer, you will leverage your extensive reservoir expertise and classical engineering techniques to gather and analyze field data, ensuring it is effectively integrated into the team's current knowledge base to guide decision-making and facilitate appropriate reservoir management and monitoring activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with regional teams to provide and coordinate technical contributions to the Asset Development Plan (ADP), including assessing development alternatives and identifying key triggers/dependencies for resource advancement.
  • Offer technical support and guidance throughout project execution and resource development.
  • Oversee and conduct simulation modeling studies in partnership with the Global Modeling Team.
  • Perform classical reservoir engineering analyses.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary reservoir evaluations.
  • Assist in the creation of well planning deliverables.
  • Contribute to the long-term production forecasting and analysis.
  • Support resource appraisal studies, benchmarking, regulatory compliance in reservoir engineering, and risk-based surveillance planning.
  • Mentor junior team members.
Qualifications for Success:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Petroleum Engineering or a related field, along with:
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment to achieve technical results.
  • Proficiency in classical (IAM suite, PIE, etc.) and modeling (TDRM, Petrel) reservoir engineering tools.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) across various organizational levels.
Additionally, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
  • A history of building networks across different functions.
  • Familiarity with subsea production systems.
  • Understanding of BP's ADP and project progression protocols.
  • Experience in describing and assessing cross-functional uncertainty analysis and its implications for development plans.
