We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Director to join our team at the Climate Litigation Network. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the global narrative around climate litigation and driving climate action worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to shift global narratives in support of climate action, in collaboration with our leadership and partners.
- Identify and develop opportunities to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing among climate litigators, with a focus on communications and advocacy strategies.
- Champion and communicate the successes and impacts of climate cases in our network, acting as an information broker for other climate campaigners and communicators.
- Support national teams by providing guidance on strategic communications and how to fit national campaigns into the global conversation around climate litigation and accountability.
- Identify and address strategic communications capacity gaps across our network, including training needs for spokespeople and messaging and framing.
- Lead on managing and maintaining our external communications, including defining our external positioning and maintaining our website and social media channels.
- A proven record of using communication strategies to successfully influence target audiences and shape public narratives around critical and urgent issues.
- A proven record of bringing together a wide range of stakeholders to work collaboratively on a common goal or issue.
- Outstanding English language skills and demonstrated ability to produce engaging and impactful written materials.
- Demonstrated experience leading communications strategy for a mission-driven organization.
- A commitment to climate justice, human rights, and existing knowledge of the climate law and/or policy field.
- A creative and innovative approach to strategic communications, with great storytelling instincts.
- An entrepreneurial and collegiate approach to work, including a passion for collaborating with a broad range of partners worldwide to build impact.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams across different geographies and from different cultures.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid organization and with remote partners.
- Strong alignment with our values and commitment to our vision and mission, and a commitment to building a trust-based, inclusive, and empowering organization.
