Role: Project Quantity Surveyor
Location: Stirling
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent

This position involves overseeing our contract with the Scottish Fire & Rescue Services across various sites in Scotland.
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating both planned and reactive maintenance while adhering to client budgets. Your role will emphasize Health & Safety, ensuring that all practices align with quality and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct tendering processes using various contract types.
- Manage measurements, valuations, variations, payment applications, and final accounts.
- Oversee sub-contractor procurement, including contract forms and purchase orders.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on ongoing projects.
- Work alongside the SFRS commercial team to ensure timely invoicing and preparation of final accounts.
- Provide guidance and support to on-site contractors to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Identify and report any risks related to project delivery to your supervisor.
- Maintain trackers for tenders, purchase orders, contracts, and consultant agreements.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar capacity.
- RICS qualification preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of NEC4, SBCC, and JCT contract forms; NEC4 knowledge is essential.
- Proven experience managing construction projects across various sectors, either independently or as part of a larger team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with sub-contractors and clients.
- Familiarity with current Safety, Health & Environmental regulations and quality standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of the construction process and contract administration.
Ideal Candidate:
We seek an individual to manage the commercial aspects of SFRS projects, from tender arrangements to contractor engagement and final account completion. The candidate should meet production, profitability, safety, and quality demands while ensuring compliance with designs and specifications. Projects will vary in value from £500 to £1 million, including extensions, modular buildings, refurbishments, and more. The role requires fostering a collaborative relationship between the project team and client representatives, ensuring that all projects are executed to the highest standards.
