Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Day Care Manager to join our team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council. As a Deputy Day Care Manager, you will play a key role in the management of our busy Day Nursery, providing high-quality childcare to children aged 2-5 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment for children.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of childcare.
  • Work closely with the Manager to identify and address any child protection issues, ensuring the well-being and safety of all children in our care.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other staff members, promoting good practice and supporting their professional development.
  • Act as a key person to a small group of children, building effective relationships with parents and carers, and ensuring each child's needs are recognized and met.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the nursery's curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all children.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and departments within the council to ensure the effective delivery of childcare services.

Requirements

  • Hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Have experience of working in a childcare setting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care.
  • Be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of parents and carers.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and empower others.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team, with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
