Key Responsibilities

As a Band 6 Clinical Educator/Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse in the Critical Care Unit, you will:

  • Serve as a role model for best clinical practices and Trust values.
  • Collaborate with learners to foster their independent growth.
  • Manage your time effectively to balance educational delivery with administrative duties.
  • Promote an inter-professional learning environment.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Engage in service improvement and research initiatives relevant to the educator role.

Clinical Practice

You will work closely with learners, providing clinical care while utilizing coaching techniques to identify learning needs and enhance standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating high standards of holistic, patient-centered care.
  • Applying specialist knowledge to effectively plan and evaluate care.
  • Ensuring comprehensive documentation that meets professional standards.

Professional Development

You will maintain your professional development through self-directed learning and collaboration with your line manager. This includes:

  • Participating in peer reviews to enhance clinical and educational practices.
  • Contributing to a positive learning environment that utilizes resources effectively.
  • Supporting the induction and orientation of new colleagues.

Leadership and Management

As a leader, you will:

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse or Registered Allied Health Professional.
