About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Design Assistant to join our Puffin Picture Books team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support, updating brand sheets, managing reprints, and producing mock-ups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the design team with day-to-day tasks, including design and administrative support
  • Update brand sheets and make corrections as needed
  • Manage reprints and ensure timely delivery
  • Produce high-quality mock-ups for various projects
  • Reimagine previously published books into fresh new formats
  • Work on your own projects, where appropriate, to develop your skills and creativity
Requirements
  • Fluency in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator)
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable interest in picture books and children's literature
  • Organized, able to prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities
  • Flexible approach, able to work to tight deadlines
  • Creative, willing to contribute ideas and absorb feedback
  • Inquisitive, keen to learn about all aspects of publishing design
