Job Summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our Bacteriology team. As a key member of our Microbiology laboratory, you will play a vital role in providing clinical diagnostic services across Norfolk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures in all areas of the Bacteriology Laboratory, adhering to laboratory policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct plate reading to identify significant isolates, set up and interpret antibiotic sensitivity testing.
  • Operate a range of automated techniques throughout the department, including MS and automated MIC determination.
  • Assist in training of staff and maintenance of the departmental ISO 15189 accreditation.
  • Work collaboratively with the Bacteriology team to achieve collective goals.
