Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Professional to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing clinical diagnostic services across Norfolk, working closely with our efficient and closely knit team to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Laboratory Procedures: Conduct routine laboratory procedures in all areas of the Bacteriology Laboratory, adhering to laboratory policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify Significant Isolates: Perform plate reading to identify significant isolates and set up and interpret antibiotic sensitivity testing.
  • Assist in Training and Accreditation: Assist in training of staff and maintenance of the departmental ISO 15189 accreditation.
  • Participate in On-Call Service: Participate in the Microbiology on-call service, providing critical support to the team.
  • Quality Management: Experience in quality management solutions is desirable, enabling you to contribute to the improvement of our services.
