We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Service Manager to join our team at Wigan Council. As a key member of our public health team, you will be responsible for leading key public health programmes, providing public health expertise and leadership for improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead key public health programmes and provide public health expertise and leadership
- Develop and implement strategies to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities
- Work collaboratively with the Council, NHS, and other Wigan partners to deliver public health services
- Provide leadership and management to a team of public health professionals
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Assistant Director of Public Health and Consultant in Public Health
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced public health professional with a strong track record of leading public health programmes and improving health outcomes. You will have a deep understanding of evidence-based public health practice, relevant statutory requirements, and a proven commitment to addressing health inequalities.
You will also have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, engage, and motivate colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for residents. A strong understanding of current health policy and systems is also essential.
