About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at St Christopher's Fellowship. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to young individuals in our care, helping them to achieve their full potential and overcome challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to young people, addressing their unique needs and goals
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive support
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of support provided, including progress and challenges
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans, tailored to the needs of each young person
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of respect and empathy

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year working with young people, preferably in a support or advocacy role
  • Passion for supporting young individuals to achieve their full potential and overcome challenges
  • Understanding of youth-related challenges, including mental health, education, and social issues
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and policies, including those related to leaving care and youth services
  • Effective handling of challenging behaviors, with a focus on de-escalation and conflict resolution
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
