Role Overview:
The Senior Manager of Production Finance plays a pivotal role in supporting the Production, Operations, and finance teams in the areas of production planning, budgeting, and financial reporting. This position handles sensitive financial information and collaborates with various levels of Senior Management, as well as departments such as Physical Production, Post-Production, VFX, Tax, Development, Business Affairs, and Legal.
Position Summary:
We are in search of a highly qualified and experienced Senior Manager of Production Finance to lead and manage the financial dimensions of our VFX production activities. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of production finance, budgeting, cost management, and financial reporting specifically within the VFX and Media sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with VFX production teams to create and oversee production budgets, ensuring compliance with financial standards and objectives.
- Deliver financial analysis and reporting on VFX production cost discrepancies and forecasts for upper management.
- Track VFX production expenditures across various departments and locations, identifying potential cost-saving measures and efficiency enhancements.
- Establish and enforce financial controls and procedures to guarantee adherence to industry regulations and company policies.
- Supervise the preparation and filing of tax incentives, rebates, and production incentives for VFX projects.
- Collaborate with external auditors and VFX producers to ensure precise and timely financial reporting.
- Offer financial advice and support to VFX artists, production personnel, and clients to facilitate project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in production finance within the VFX sector.
- A proven history of managing and optimizing VFX production budgets for film, television, or streaming content.
- A strong grasp of VFX tax incentives and global production financing frameworks.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with VFX financial software and tools.
Additional Requirements:
- Capability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional VFX teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of VFX industry standards, regulations, and best practices in production finance.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of ERP software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
