Role Overview:

The Senior Manager of Production Finance plays a crucial role in supporting the Production, Operations, and finance teams in the areas of production planning, budgeting, and financial reporting. This position handles sensitive financial data and collaborates with various levels of Senior Management, as well as departments such as Physical Production, Post-Production, VFX, Tax, Development, Business Affairs, and Legal.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Senior Manager of Production Finance to lead and manage the financial operations of our VFX production initiatives. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of production finance, budgeting, cost management, and financial reporting specifically within the VFX and Media sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with VFX production teams to create and oversee production budgets, ensuring compliance with financial objectives and standards.
  2. Deliver financial analysis and reporting on variances in VFX production costs and forecasts for executive review.
  3. Track VFX production expenditures across multiple locations and departments, identifying areas for cost efficiency and productivity enhancements.
  4. Establish and enforce financial controls and procedures to guarantee adherence to industry regulations and company protocols.
  5. Manage the preparation and filing of tax incentives, rebates, and production incentives related to VFX projects.
  6. Coordinate with external auditors and VFX producers to ensure precise and timely financial disclosures.
  7. Offer financial insights and assistance to VFX artists, production teams, and clients to facilitate project success.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline; MBA or CPA is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 8 years of experience in production finance within the VFX sector.
  3. A proven history of managing and optimizing production budgets for film, television, or streaming content.
  4. Strong knowledge of VFX tax incentives and global production financing frameworks.
  5. Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities.
  6. Proficiency in VFX financial software and tools.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional VFX teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of VFX industry standards, regulations, and best practices in production finance.
  3. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  4. Familiarity with ERP software.
  5. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
