Salary: Circa £60,000 - £65,000 + 5k Car.

Working Pattern: Full-time onsite.

Latham & Bond HR is pleased to partner with a prominent automotive manufacturer in the search for an Operations Management professional. This role is crucial for enhancing operational processes and executing enhancements across various sectors, including production, logistics, assembly, health, safety, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will demonstrate robust leadership and management capabilities to ensure operational initiatives are effective and align with the organization's performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure optimal allocation of operational resources to meet organizational needs.
  • Oversee adherence to manufacturing protocols and quality standards by team members.
  • Maintain consistent application of 5S methodologies.
  • Facilitate work stream enhancements in a defined and secure manner.
  • Accurately track, monitor, and document all workstream activities.
  • Promote lean manufacturing principles within the organization.
  • Support and oversee the performance facility (TPM) program.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports biannually.
  • Assist in driving productivity enhancement initiatives.
  • Establish and uphold the (SMED) program to reduce product changeover durations.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and resolve operational challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements within the organization.
  • Deploy technical expertise, resource allocation, and systems to achieve project goals.
  • Collaborate with the safety department to ensure comprehensive risk assessments for all operational processes.
  • Assist in coordinating the project management office (PMO).
  • Lead and facilitate project engagement activities.
  • Support the visual management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Encourage innovative ideas and employee recognition programs.
  • Manage daily operations and guide the team towards achieving objectives.
  • Oversee operational tasks and ensure accurate performance data recording.
  • Exemplify high standards and ensure the team comprehends the expected standards and behaviors.
  • Facilitate daily cross-functional meetings.
  • Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan through weekly updates.
  • Collaborate with all departments to define processes, procedures, and controls for operational activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
  • Maintain effective communication across all departments.
  • Provide feedback to management to share ideas for operational enhancements and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, quality, and environmental standards.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Operations Manager, leading initiatives to drive improvement.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing multi-skilled personnel.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques and recognized quality control tools.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including ISO14001 compliance.
  • Understanding of quality standards such as TS16949.
