About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Highways Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Tarmac. As a key member of our Highways team, you will play a vital role in the successful delivery of kerbing, paving, drainage, and patching works within the Norwich and Norfolk region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of our program of Highways works, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of projects.
  • Work collaboratively with a crew to undertake works orders in a planned fashion, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular safety observations and report any incidents or near-misses on our Tarmac reporting system.
  • Perform pre-start checks on each machine operated, including hired-in plant, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Work towards gang targets, minimizing costs and maximizing profitability while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure all plant is safely and securely stored in designated areas at the end of each shift.
  • Participate in regular training and development sessions with your line manager to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Achieve Company and Contractual KPIs, with a focus on year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPIs.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety standards, promoting a culture of zero accidents and environmental incidents.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid LGV/HGV license, which would be highly beneficial for the role.
  • Possess a NRSWA card.
  • Have experience in construction and highways maintenance works.
  • Hold a valid UK full manual car driving license with no more than 6 points.
