About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Residential Children's Services team at Headway. As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the needs of young people in our care are met and providing a positive and safe living experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Manage and lead a team of Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and ensure the smooth operation of the home.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensure the safety and well-being of young people in our care, adhering to company policies and procedures, and promoting a culture of safeguarding and protection.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Deliver supervision and support to Residential Support Workers, promoting their development and growth within the team.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislation, including the Home's Statement of Purpose, Policy, and Procedures.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Foster positive relationships with local authorities, other professional agencies, and significant others who are part of a young person's life.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Promote effective communication and teamwork within the home and with external partners, ensuring a cohesive and supportive environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Working towards or hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior, good report writing and numeracy skills, and the ability to relate to young people with empathy.
  • Leadership and Management Potential: Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential, with the ability to supervise, support, and develop Residential Support Workers.
