About the Role:
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ward Clerk to join our dynamic team within the Acute Medical Floor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our nursing staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the ward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and welcome new patients onto the ward, verifying their records and ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
- Provide administrative support to nursing staff, including answering phone calls, responding to queries, and requesting services from allied healthcare professionals.
- Compile and maintain accurate records, including patient information and medical history.
- Coordinate transportation for patients as needed, ensuring timely and efficient movement.
- Order and collect medical notes and x-rays from various departments, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
Requirements:
- Basic computer skills and experience with administrative software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Business Administration preferred.
