We are excited to announce an opening for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer specializing in Combustion. This position is part of our dedicated team within NHS Property Services. The competitive salary for this role starts at £36,000, depending on experience, along with an on-call allowance.

This is a permanent, full-time role requiring 37.5 hours of work per week, with a standard working schedule from 8am to 4:30pm.

The position is mobile, covering the West Yorkshire, Bradford, and Halifax regions.

Key Requirements for the Role:

Qualifications – Candidates must possess at least one of the following:

BTEC City & Guilds along with relevant experience and training. Registered Gas Safe Engineer with ACS qualifications in both Domestic and Commercial Gas Installations. NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification. Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent craft training.

Additional Requirements:

A valid driving license is essential. Proficiency in using technological devices for job logging is required. Availability for on-call duties. Previous industry experience is preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wider team, as this role necessitates cooperation with other technical disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to all NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, relevant NHSPS Technical Guidance, Processes and Procedures, Statutory Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, and applicable aspects of HTMs. Implement new or revised practices and policies within your work areas. Provide Scheduled, Reactive, and Remedial maintenance services as directed by the PPM planner (CAFM), helpdesk, or Technical Services Supervisor, ensuring operational standards are consistently upheld. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, fault diagnosis, minor repairs or installations, and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments. You may be required to perform tasks in disciplines outside of your primary expertise. Ability to evaluate problems to determine the most effective course of action, including complex technical issues, and communicate technical or complex information to various stakeholders.
