Job Overview

As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for executing reactive maintenance tasks and performing scheduled maintenance activities within the NHS Property Services portfolio. Your expertise will cover various systems, including gas heating units, water heating systems, gas piping inspections, and air heating solutions. You will ensure adherence to all Health and Safety regulations, policies, and legal requirements to maintain compliance.

The primary objective of this role is to assist NHS Property Services in providing maintenance and repair services across healthcare facilities, ensuring that all properties are upheld to the highest standards and that a safe environment is maintained for all stakeholders.

Role Requirements

We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer specializing in Combustion. This position offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, along with an on-call allowance. This is a permanent, full-time role with a mobile working arrangement covering various regions.

Qualifications

  • BTEC City & Guilds or equivalent experience and training.
  • Registered Gas Safe Engineer with ACS qualifications in both Domestic and Commercial Gas Installations.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent certification.
  • Formal apprenticeship or equivalent craft training.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driving license is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using technology for job logging is essential.
  • Availability for on-call duties.
  • Experience in the industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other technical teams.

Key Duties

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies, as well as applicable technical guidance and statutory regulations.
  • Implement new or revised practices and policies within your work area.
  • Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services as directed, ensuring operational standards are consistently met.
  • Perform tasks such as fault diagnosis, minor repairs, and maintenance of critical systems and equipment.
  • Assess complex technical issues and communicate solutions effectively to various stakeholders.
