About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our team at Alexander Dennis. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of electrical system improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve electrical system issues, utilizing problem-solving skills and analytical techniques.
  • Design and implement electrical system modifications, utilizing CAD systems and BOM/parts management systems.
  • Investigate and resolve electrical system failures, utilizing 8D methodology and other problem-solving techniques.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of electrical system working principles, including 24V and high-voltage systems.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure high customer satisfaction through safe, reliable, and well-supported problem solution verification and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant internal and international standards, best practices, and legislation.
  • Meet clear project delivery targets with effective documentation.
  • Manage and coordinate activities with internal and external partners or suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets for each project.
Requirements
  • HNC or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • Six Sigma Green belt preferred.
  • 3 years+ experience (preferably in an automotive environment), working on Electrical/Systems-based Engineering.
  • Competent in 3D and electrical CAD (Solid Edge & E3 preferred).
  • Experience in vehicle manufacture, design, or automotive aftermarket – EV experience an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Detailed understanding of vehicle electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience of electrical system integration and interaction for delivery effective RQI project solutions.
  • Ability to work to structured project delivery using Reliability project management systems & processes defining actions to tasks and document effectively project progress/delivery to plan.
  • Proven problem-solving skills using 8D methodology or similar.
  • Active interest in vehicle-based technologies and developments.
  • The ability to communicate at all levels effectively.
  • Good team player implementing effective solutions.
  • Positive, professional, and able to work without supervision on own initiative.
  • Strives for continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel.
