Job Description

**Position:** Concept Design Engineer

**Location:** Remote (Hybrid)

**Position Type:** Contract

**Requirements:**

  • Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.

**Job Summary:**

As a Concept Design Engineer at Contechs, you will be responsible for taking a carryover composite tub and packaging powertrain components and concept engineering of new body exterior panels. You will deliver design proposals according to design brief and project constraints in assigned programs using CATIA V5.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Produce creative detailed design solutions fulfilling complex technical criteria.
  • Body packaging, concept studies and detailed design, including sizing calculations and use of CAD / CAE to create viable sections.
  • Assess all engineering prototypes to determine any associated issues or risks, mitigating when, and where found.
  • Research whether the design is feasible, functional and cost-effective.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • 5+ years of automotive Catia V5 design experience.
  • Experience in concept and full vehicle packaging and layout.
  • Carbon fibre composite concept design and/or powertrain and mechanical layout experience.
  • Understanding of DFMEA and risk assessment techniques in automotive environment.
  • Automotive experience.
  • Fluency in English.
