We are seeking a skilled and experienced Politics and Public Affairs Advisor to join our team at Save the Children UK. As a key member of our Politics and Public Affairs team, you will play a vital role in fostering relationships with Parliamentarians and ensuring government accountability.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide clear political intelligence to inform our campaign strategies and deliver policy change for children across domestic and international issues. You will develop political influencing strategies for specific campaigns, collaborating with colleagues to ensure that campaigning and advocacy are integrated, and providing sound political judgement to inform policy positions.
You will also be responsible for developing and delivering written and oral briefings to MPs, peers, government officials, and other decision-makers on key policies and campaigns. Additionally, you will project manage and deliver political events with key stakeholders.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Experience working to influence structures, trends, and processes in the UK Political system.
- Experience of developing effective working relationships with colleagues and working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary project teams.
- A strong interest and understanding of domestic social policy.
- Proven experience in establishing relationships with Parliamentarians.
- Ability to plan work and meet deadlines when working under pressure on a number of projects.
- Commitment to Save the Children's vision, mission, and values.
