Job Title: Senior Public Affairs Specialist

The Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade (CIOE&IT) is a leading professional association for those working in exporting and importing. We are currently seeking a Senior Public Affairs Specialist to join our team in London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the public affairs function, including stakeholder management, political monitoring, meeting briefings, project coordination, and political event planning. This will involve working closely with various departments, including editorial, public relations, and nations & regions teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Political event support, including liaising with MPs' offices and coordinating with internal teams to deliver high-quality events.
  • Producing high-quality internal and external content, including biographical and policy briefings.
  • Monitoring political announcements and parliamentary activity, and acting as the day-to-day point of contact for our monitoring service provider.
  • Providing research support for stakeholder briefings and policy consultations.
  • Aiding in team thought-leadership endeavours, such as brand-building exercises and strategic brainstorming.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a parliamentary or public affairs environment.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads effectively and handle unexpected requests.
  • A keen interest in current affairs and UK policy, including a strong understanding of parliamentary processes.
  • Strong writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and a forward-thinking planner.
