About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Politics and Public Affairs team as a Politics and Public Affairs Assistant. In this role, you will play a key part in helping us deliver high-impact change strategies and build relationships with political contacts in Westminster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyse UK political intelligence to inform advocacy and influencing work, including the production of our weekly Political Round-Up.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of relationships with political contacts in Westminster, and help to raise Save the Children's profile and awareness of our positions on key issues among a wider political audience.
  • Produce content for regular written briefings to MPs, Peers, MEPs, government officials, and other decision makers on key policies and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with other colleagues to summarise and communicate complex data and policy ideas in ways that are suitable for political audiences.
  • Occasionally represent Save the Children at external meetings and events to support our influencing and profile building, and advance our advocacy priorities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of and interest in the UK political system, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. You will also have a proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
