About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Politics and Public Affairs Specialist to join our team at Save the Children UK. As a key member of our Politics & Public Affairs team, you will play a vital role in fostering relationships with Parliament and ensuring government accountability.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with Parliamentarians to raise Save the Children's profile in Westminster and promote awareness of our work among a wider political audience.
  • Provide clear political intelligence to inform our campaign strategies and deliver policy change for children across domestic and international issues.
  • Develop political influencing strategies for specific campaigns, collaborating with colleagues to ensure that campaigning and advocacy are integrated.
  • Develop and deliver written and oral briefings to MPs, peers, government officials, and other decision makers on key policies and campaigns.
  • Project manage and deliver political events with key stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working to influence structures, trends, and processes in the UK Political system.
  • Experience of developing effective working relationships with colleagues and working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • A strong interest and understanding of domestic social policy.
  • Proven experience in establishing relationships with Parliamentarians.
  • Ability to plan work and meet deadlines when working under pressure on a number of projects.
  • Commitment to Save the Children's vision, mission, and values.
