Position Overview
The Facilities Management Division at Lancashire County Council is seeking to hire a Mobile Cleaning Technician responsible for performing cleaning and laundry tasks across various Care Homes and Day Centres in the Chorley region.
A flexible work approach is essential, as the chosen candidate will need to cover for absences, vacations, or assist in meeting increased service demands.
Lancashire County Council delivers crucial residential and day care services to the residents of Lancashire, ensuring a safe and secure environment that promotes independence for older individuals while catering to diverse care requirements. The Facilities Management team is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and laundry services at all residential care facilities and day centres. Maintaining high standards of hygiene is vital for all users of these services.
While prior experience in cleaning roles is advantageous, comprehensive training and continuous support will be provided to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general cleaning activities, including damp wiping, mopping, vacuuming, and restroom sanitation.
- Operate washing and drying machines, as well as manage the rolling and pressing of laundry items.
- Organize and store laundry items efficiently.
The role requires access to multiple locations within a designated area, necessitating reliable transportation.
This is a part-time position with an hourly wage of £12.00, complemented by a generous fuel allowance.
The role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended). Successful candidates will need to apply for a 'disclosure' through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). More details can be found in the recruitment process section.
