About the Position

The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council is seeking to hire a Flexible Cleaning Assistant responsible for performing cleaning tasks.

A willingness to adapt to various work schedules is essential, as the chosen candidate will need to cover for absences and assist in meeting increased service demands.

Lancashire County Council delivers essential Residential Care Services to the community, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for older individuals while accommodating diverse care requirements. The Facilities Management team is tasked with maintaining cleanliness in all residential care facilities and day centers, which is vital for the well-being of all users.

High standards of hygiene are expected, and while prior experience is beneficial, comprehensive training and continuous support will be provided.

Responsibilities will include general cleaning duties such as:

  • Damp wiping and mopping
  • Vacuuming
  • Sanitizing restrooms and wash areas
  • Managing laundry tasks including loading and unloading machines
  • Sorting and storing laundry items

There are numerous care homes and day centers within the region. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to provide coverage across multiple locations.

In recognition of your dedication and professionalism, Lancashire County Council proudly offers the Foundation Living Wage for this position, which is determined annually based on the living needs of employees and their families.
