Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team at Look Ahead. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, Autism, and Complex needs to live independently and thrive in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support customers to develop their independent living skills, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and decorating.
- Enable customers to maintain relationships with family and friends, and to meet new people with shared interests.
- Communicate with customers in a person-centred way, supporting them to express their wants and needs.
- Manage customer anxieties and frustrations using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches.
- Collate and analyse behavioural data and essential paperwork to inform local management decisions.
- Drive customers to activities using their vehicle, in rotation with the wider team.
- Communicate with family members, social work, psychology, and commissioning teams.
- Act in accordance with Look Ahead's policies and procedures, as well as statutory requirements.
- Review customer life goals and progress towards achieving them, in partnership with customers and key stakeholders.
- Support customers with personal care and report any observations relating to customer welfare.
- Maintain records as required at the project.
- Participate in team meetings, support planning, risk management, and the general development of the service.

Requirements:
- NVQ Level or equivalent.
- Minimum years of experience working with customers with care and support needs, including learning disabilities.
- Driving licence and willingness to drive as part of support duties.
