Senior Building Control Surveyor Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our team at South Oxfordshire District Council.

About the Role:

  • Validating, examining, and determining applications submitted under building regulations and associated legislation.
  • Recording detailed and accurate records within our computerised systems.
  • Instigating enforcement procedures, preparing reports, and statements to our solicitor and appearing in court as a prosecution witness as required.
  • Carrying out inspections of dangerous structures, taking appropriate action.
  • Exercising and promoting a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering building regulations, the Building Act, and other associated legislation.
  • Assisting the Principal Building Control Officer with service plan implementation, meeting service standards, and performance targets.
  • Developing experience and knowledge to further your career.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Class 2A-2F registration with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working in building control, either within Local Government or the private sector.
