Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Control Surveyor to join our team at South Oxfordshire District Council. As a key member of our building control team, you will be responsible for administering building regulations, the Building Act, and other associated legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validating, examining, and determining applications submitted under building regulations and associated legislation in line with Class 2A to Class 2F registration as agreed.
  • Recording detailed and accurate records within the services' computerised systems.
  • Instigating enforcement procedures, preparing reports, and providing expert advice to stakeholders.
  • Assisting the Principal Building Control Officer with service plan implementation, meeting service standards, and performance targets.

Requirements

  • Minimum Class 2A-2F registration with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working in building control, either within Local Government or the private sector.
