Position Summary:

An exciting position has opened within our collaborative and successful team located in the South-West region. This technical role focuses on providing essential support to farming and crofting enterprises, encompassing a variety of responsibilities with an emphasis on the analysis and processing of farm financial data.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with farmers to manage and analyze their business accounts data
  • Conducting financial assessments of farm accounts, contributing to a national team effort
  • Implementing the Scottish Government's Sustainable Farming initiatives, including Soil Sampling, Carbon Audits, and Animal Health and Welfare plans
  • Exploring opportunities for new client services based on needs and the skill set of the postholder
  • Demonstrating experience in the agricultural or rural sector
  • Exhibiting strong communication and numerical skills
  • Maintaining attention to detail and adapting to new technical IT systems and methodologies

The ideal candidate must thrive under tight deadlines and produce precise, up-to-date reports to meet the role's requirements.


The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.


It is essential for the postholder to manage multiple tasks effectively and demonstrate initiative in their work. Sound judgment is required to ensure compliance with SRUC regulations and procedures.

The South West region encompasses various areas, providing a diverse working environment.

Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess qualifications equivalent to SCQF level 6, with a strong emphasis on numeracy. A degree in an Agricultural, Business, or Numerate-related field is preferred. Relevant experience in agricultural settings and familiarity with farm accounts is essential.

Eligibility for Sponsorship:

This position does not qualify for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. Migrant workers must possess the appropriate visa to demonstrate their right to work in the UK.
