About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team providing neurological rehabilitation services within the community.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with neurological conditions to regain independence and improve their quality of life. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' needs and abilities, utilizing evidence-based assessment tools and techniques.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address patients' functional goals and promote their independence in daily activities.
  • Provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including physical rehabilitation, cognitive stimulation, and adaptive equipment training.
  • Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing their symptoms.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Essential Requirements

  • BSc (OT) or equivalent qualification.
  • State registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
  • Post-registration courses in Normal Movement Counselling, Neurology, Care of Older People, and Postural Management.
  • Strong understanding of the role of occupational therapy within community neurological rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and a variety of neurological assessment and treatment approaches.
  • Experience in supervising students and assistants.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Post-graduate degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
  • Participation in audit, service improvement projects, or research.
  • Teaching experience for junior staff, students, other disciplines, or carers.
