About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Tele-coach Practitioner to join our mental health First Response Service in Exeter. As a Tele-coach, you will play a vital role in providing psychological support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental health crises via telephone.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex mental state assessments and clinical risk assessments to identify individuals' needs and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Provide recovery-focused interventions, including emotional validation, de-escalation of crises, and coaching on distress tolerance techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with senior clinical practitioners to ensure high-quality care and service provision.
  • Develop and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with service users, carers, and other professional bodies.
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant field, such as nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or psychology.
  • Experience of working with individuals who have suffered from mental health problems, including children, adults, and older people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with users of services experiencing complex mental health presentations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
