Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled healthcare professional to join our Clinical Review team, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or Autism.

Our team collaborates with healthcare partners and care providers to implement the NHS Care (Education) & Treatment review policy and the Transforming care programme. Our goal is to reduce the number of individuals with learning disabilities and/or Autism in mental health inpatient settings and support workstreams associated with admission avoidance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff involved in an individual's care and facilitate communication between different areas and organisations.
  • Hold a caseload of individuals of all ages, including those detained under the mental health act and those in the community at risk of detention.
  • Weigh up clinical need against resources and time constraints, requiring critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Travel out of county to undertake commissioner oversight visits to provide assurance on the care and discharge pathways for individuals with LD/A.
  • Work with healthcare partners and care providers to identify risk, service improvement, and governance issues.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification.
  • Registered with a nationally recognised regulatory body (e.g. NMC, HCPC, Social Work England).
  • Significant experience of working in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at Senior Management level.
  • Understanding of the public sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to analyse complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making.

Planning Skills:

  • Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.

Autonomy:

  • Demonstrated capabilities to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales.
