We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated audiologist to join our dynamic team of professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of audiological services, including diagnostic support to the ENT department, reassessments, domiciliary service, hearing therapy, tinnitus management, vestibular rehabilitation and assessment, and adult learning difficulties clinic.

The ideal candidate will possess a BSc in Audiology or equivalent qualifications, and have excellent communication skills. The role will involve some supervisory duties, deputising for the manager when necessary.

The successful candidate will be registered or in the process of registering with RCCP or AHCS.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide audiometric testing and tympanometry services for adults and children, adapting instructions to ensure accurate test results.
  • To provide a comprehensive hearing aid service, including provision of NHS hearing aids and rehabilitation for hearing aid users.
  • To support the lead audiologist in the provision of expert clinical services for tinnitus, hyperacusis, balance, and obscure auditory dysfunction.
  • To recommend complex diagnostic assessments and provide expert advice to patients and colleagues.
Requirements
  • BSc in Audiology or equivalent qualifications.
  • RCCP registration or in the process of registering.
  • Significant experience as an audiologist.
Key Skills
  • Diagnostic skills, including understanding of underlying principles and ability to perform tests and interpret results.
  • Rehabilitation skills, including ability to set up, fit, evaluate, and maintain NHS hearing aids.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced IT skills, including use of word processing, PowerPoint, and the internet.

  • Commitment to patient care and understanding of the impact of hearing impairment on quality of life.
  • Ability to deal with challenging patients and situations.
  • Confidentiality and discretion when dealing with patient information.
  • Ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure.
