We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated audiologist to join our team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of audiological services, including diagnostic support to the ENT department, reassessments, domiciliary service, hearing therapy, tinnitus management, vestibular rehabilitation and assessment, and adult learning difficulties clinic.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Audiology or equivalent qualifications, and possess excellent communication skills. They will also have experience in supervisory roles and be able to deputise for the manager when necessary.
The role will involve providing expert clinical services in rehabilitation of adults with tinnitus, hyperacusis, balance and obscure auditory dysfunction, and recommending complex diagnostic assessments.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide audiological diagnostic support to ENT clinics for adults and children.
- Provide a comprehensive hearing aid service for patients referred from ENT and audiologists.
- Support lead audiologist in provision of expert clinical service in rehabilitation of adults with tinnitus, hyperacusis, balance and obscure auditory dysfunction.
- Recommend more complex diagnostic assessments.
- BSc in Audiology or equivalent.
- RCCP registration or applied for, or HCPC.
- Significant experience as an audiologist.
- Diagnostic - Understanding underlying principles and ability to perform the tests and interpret the results.
- Rehabilitation - Ability to appropriately set up, fit, evaluate and maintain the full range of NHS hearing aids.
- Listening and counselling skills.
- Ability to work without supervision in the diagnostic and rehabilitation areas.
- Committed to patient care.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the issues surrounding hearing impairment and impact on quality of life.
- Ability to deal with aggressive, distressed or confrontational patients.
