Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Alvaston Hall, a prestigious hotel and leisure resort. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and excellence in food quality.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and stock levels to optimize profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and execute special events, banquets, and themed dining experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive and supportive team culture, and fostering open communication among kitchen staff.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for creative menu development and execution.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Good financial knowledge and analytical skills, with experience in managing budgets and controlling costs.
