Technical Safety Engineer

Wood Digital Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Technical Safety Engineer to support our UK projects.

This is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere in the UK, with mobility and travel to customer sites and face-to-face meetings with colleagues as required.

The successful candidate must be able to pass a HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

About the Role

The Technical Safety Engineer will support the implementation of projects in line with company objectives, including continuous improvement of customer satisfaction, schedule, and safety performance.

Candidates must have extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry and deliver safety studies required to ensure that projects and change proposals carried out by the delivery team for Assets are compliant with project requirements and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of projects in line with company objectives
  • Deliver safety studies required to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulatory obligations
  • Work with other disciplines and sections to meet delivery dates
  • Ensure quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
  • Design and implement safety procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject
  • Highly experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise
  • Experience in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
