POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking experienced professionals for the role of Senior/Principal Electrical Power System Engineers at Wood PLC.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected Engineer will be tasked with conducting power system simulations for intricate systems, ensuring ownership of power system models and studies. The individual will be expected to deliver high-caliber engineering solutions tailored to the assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Providing technical input for major equipment sizing and generating Power Generation & Distribution Engineering documentation (including equipment lists, key line diagrams, load schedules, and cable schedules), ensuring compliance with design specifications and international standards.
  • Utilizing advanced experience with the ETAP Power System modeling package to execute load flows, short-circuit analyses, transient stability assessments, static/dynamic motor starting evaluations, harmonic analyses, arc-flash studies, and protection coordination studies, while producing corresponding power system study reports.
  • Reviewing and comprehending the project Scope of Work (SoW) and executing activities according to the established schedule.
  • Delivering Protection Engineering solutions pertinent to the assigned projects.
  • Identifying and communicating opportunities for design process enhancements.
  • Recognizing scope changes and reporting them to the Lead and relevant Project Engineer.
  • Addressing any concerns during the design process and communicating them to the Lead Electrical Engineer.
  • Ensuring that deliverables meet the acceptable Quality Level.
  • Adhering to the Project Schedule and managing Project Costs effectively.
  • Coordinating with clients and subcontractors/vendors regarding the scope of power system studies.
  • Executing work that encompasses conventional engineering practices while navigating complex features such as conflicting design requirements and challenging coordination demands.
  • Understanding and adhering to the Company's Business Management System, which includes Business/Quality Procedures, Guidelines, and Policies.
  • Complying with the Company's and Client's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Formal training in advanced ETAP Power System Modeling and Analysis is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment in a similar capacity is highly desirable.
  • Significant experience with Oil & Gas facilities design is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively to meet all deadlines.
  • Exhibit a positive working attitude, demonstrating self-motivation and a proactive approach.

  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
