POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking experienced professionals for the role of Senior/Principal Electrical Power System Engineers at Wood PLC.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected Engineer will take charge of conducting power system simulations for intricate systems, ensuring ownership of power system models and studies. Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering high-quality engineering solutions tailored to project requirements.
  • Providing technical insights for major equipment sizing and generating Power Generation & Distribution Engineering documentation, including equipment lists, key line diagrams, load schedules, and cable schedules, while adhering to design specifications and international standards.
  • Utilizing advanced experience with the ETAP Power System modeling package to perform load flows, short-circuit analysis, transient stability assessments, static/dynamic motor starting, harmonic analysis, arc-flash studies, and protection coordination evaluations, along with issuing comprehensive power system study reports.

WORK SCOPE

Key tasks include:
  • Reviewing and comprehending the project Scope of Work (SoW) and executing activities according to the schedule.
  • Delivering Protection Engineering solutions pertinent to the assigned project.
  • Identifying and communicating design process opportunities.
  • Recognizing scope changes and reporting them to the Lead and relevant Project Engineer.
  • Highlighting any concerns during the design process to the Lead Electrical Engineer.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet the required Quality Level.
  • Adhering to the Project Schedule and managing Project Costs.
  • Coordinating with clients and subcontractors/vendors regarding power system study scopes.
  • Executing work that encompasses conventional engineering practices, which may involve complex features such as conflicting design requirements and challenging coordination needs.
  • Understanding and following the Company's Business Management System, including Business/Quality Procedures, Guidelines, and Policies.
  • Complying with the Company's and Client's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should possess:
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Formal training in advanced ETAP Power System Modeling and Analysis is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment in a similar capacity is highly desirable.
  • Solid experience in Oil & Gas facilities design is essential.
  • The ability to prioritize workload effectively to meet all deadlines.
  • A positive attitude, demonstrating self-motivation and a proactive approach.
  • A flexible mindset towards design solutions.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
