POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking experienced professionals for the role of Senior/Principal Electrical Power System Engineers at Wood PLC.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be tasked with conducting power system simulations for intricate systems, taking full ownership of power system models and studies. Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering high-quality engineering solutions tailored to project requirements.
  • Providing technical insights for major equipment sizing and generating Power Generation & Distribution Engineering documentation, including equipment lists, key line diagrams, load schedules, and cable schedules, ensuring compliance with design specifications and international standards.
  • Utilizing advanced experience with the ETAP Power System modeling software to execute load flows, short-circuit analysis, transient stability assessments, static/dynamic motor starting evaluations, harmonic analysis, arc-flash studies, and protection coordination, while producing comprehensive power system study reports.
WORK SCOPE

The Engineer will:
  • Review and comprehend the project Scope of Work (SoW) and execute tasks as per the established timeline.
  • Offer Protection Engineering solutions for designated projects.
  • Identify and communicate design process opportunities.
  • Detect scope changes and report to the Lead and relevant Project Engineer.
  • Recognize concerns during the design phase and escalate to the Lead Electrical Engineer.
  • Ensure deliverables meet the required Quality Level.
  • Adhere to the Project Schedule and manage Project Costs effectively.
  • Coordinate with clients and subcontractors/vendors regarding power system study scopes.
  • Engage in conventional engineering practices while addressing complex features such as conflicting design requirements and challenging coordination needs.
  • Familiarize with and adhere to the Company's Business Management System, including Business/Quality Procedures, Guidelines, and Policies.
  • Comply with the Company's and Client's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should possess:
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Formal training in advanced ETAP Power System Modeling and Analysis is advantageous.
  • Significant experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment in a similar capacity is highly desirable.
  • Proficient experience in Oil & Gas facilities design is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • A positive attitude with demonstrated self-motivation and a proactive approach.
  • A flexible mindset towards design solutions.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
