About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Fostering Advisor to join our team at ISP. As a Fostering Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting our foster parents and children in their journey towards a brighter future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regular phone contact with foster parents to discuss general progress and share ideas and strategies.
  • Make home visits agreed with the ISP Social Worker and Centre Manager to provide support and guidance.
  • Offer information and advice on support and services available to foster parents through ISP and the Fostering Network.
  • Coordinate training for foster parents and support children and young people in their leisure activities.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date records as required.
Requirements
  • Understanding of Fostering regulations and standards, including the Children's Act and Fostering Service National Minimum Standards.
  • Some first-hand knowledge or experience of Fostering, ideally as a foster parent or as part of a Fostering family.
  • Previous experience or a willingness to work in a therapeutic model of child care.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with professionals from various disciplines.
  • Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience of using spreadsheets and databases.
