About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Fostering Advisor to join our team at ISP. As a Fostering Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting our foster parents and children in their journey towards a stable and fulfilling life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regular phone contact with foster parents to discuss progress and share ideas and strategies.
  • Make home visits to foster parents, agreed with the ISP Social Worker and Centre Manager, to offer advice and information on support and services available.
  • Coordinate training for foster parents and be actively involved in contact arrangements, supervised contact, respite, and transportation.
  • Support children and young people in their leisure activities and assist in facilitating discussion groups and presentations at the Centre.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records as required and be conversant with applicable regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Understanding of Fostering regulations and standards, including the Children's Act and Fostering Service National Minimum Standards.
  • Some first-hand knowledge or experience of Fostering, ideally as a foster parent or as part of a Fostering family.
  • Previous experience or a willingness to work in a therapeutic model of child care.
  • Good understanding of Attachment and working within a therapeutic model.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with professionals from various disciplines and challenge appropriately where necessary.
  • Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience of using spreadsheets and databases.
