Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Information Security Specialist who will concentrate on the technical aspects of IT Security, particularly in the realm of application security and code evaluation to guarantee that applications are developed with security in mind.

The Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding a variety of applications, including proprietary, open-source, and internally developed software. Our goal is to ensure that all systems and services are designed with privacy and security as foundational principles.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Software Development team to ensure that vulnerabilities within applications are recognized and addressed. This process focuses on security assessments rather than code quality assurance, thus proficiency in code review is essential.

Our team consists of a diverse group of professionals, from recent graduates to seasoned engineers, with backgrounds in system administration, networking, service operations, and security. We utilize top-tier, enterprise-grade tools to detect threats to our systems, alongside custom scripts and thorough internet research.

This position is eligible for our hybrid working from home policy.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of technology functions related to Information Security.
  • Experience with structured methodologies for conducting and reporting on Web Application Penetration Testing.
  • Proficient in both automated and manual security testing techniques to identify vulnerabilities and logical flaws.
  • Ability to analyze network packets using tools such as Wireshark.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard Information Security practices.
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating the project process to ensure that Information Security considerations are integrated from the outset and throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assuming responsibility for the security of the evaluated product within the project framework.
  • Conducting both manual and automated reviews of source code.
  • Contributing to and employing bet365's security testing methodologies, while creating and updating necessary technical documentation.
  • Performing security vulnerability assessments and actively participating in external audits as required.
  • Gaining insights into the broader business context.
  • Collaborating with Software Development to ensure security is prioritized throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Identifying security weaknesses within business software and managing them appropriately, including liaising with external entities as needed.
  • Identifying and developing innovative tools that could enhance the security testing process.
  • Keeping abreast of new and emerging security threats.
