The Quality Assurance Team Leader is tasked with supervising the daily functions of the QA team, ensuring that all software aligns with the defined specifications. What are your responsibilities?

The Quality Assurance Team Leader will be responsible for managing testing efforts on smaller projects and providing QA oversight across the organization. This position is vital in mentoring team members, refining testing methodologies, and ensuring that QA resources and activities are in sync with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning and Strategy: Craft detailed test plans and strategies to ensure thorough coverage of features and functionalities. Establish testing scope, objectives, and deliverables based on project specifications. Test Management: Oversee testing for smaller projects utilizing Agile sprint or Waterfall methodologies, manage the execution of test scenarios, track test progress, and handle defects to guarantee timely and effective resolution. Test Execution: When necessary, design, develop, and execute test scenarios, including regression testing, ensuring that all software meets quality standards. Leadership: Offer guidance, mentorship, and support to QA team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work atmosphere. People Management: Supervise multiple Senior QA Analysts/QA Analysts, responsible for career development, performance evaluations, and other management duties. Identify training needs to enhance team members' skills and knowledge in QA methodologies and tools. Quality Assurance: Ensure that software meets all specified requirements and quality benchmarks. Implement and maintain quality metrics to monitor and enhance testing processes. Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure a shared understanding of quality expectations. Work alongside fellow QA leads to maintain alignment in QA processes, standards, and guidelines. Communication: Serve as the primary communication point for QA, providing regular updates to stakeholders. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize testing processes and practices for increased efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with industry best practices.

Essential Qualifications

Extensive experience in software quality assurance, with a deep understanding of contemporary testing methodologies, tools, and practices. Significant experience working in both agile teams and project environments. Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to guide and mentor QA professionals. Comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of test automation. Proven experience in similar leadership roles with the capacity to manage multiple QA professionals. Strong technical QA skills, particularly in API testing and mobile/browser testing. Proficient knowledge and experience with Test Driven Development approaches (ATDD, BDD & TDD). Solid understanding of functional and non-functional testing. Familiarity with BDD/Test Automation practices. Knowledge of Agile Test Quadrants and Automation Test Pyramid. Experience collaborating with third-party development/testing partners, both onshore and offshore.

Desirable Qualifications

Understanding of the UK General Insurance market. Experience with Test Automation.
