Position Overview

We are excited to announce a vacancy within our supportive pharmacy team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role is integral to the pharmacy admissions service, focusing on delivering exceptional care to patients in our emergency units.

We seek a motivated and proactive pharmacist to join our dedicated team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, providing extended hours of pharmaceutical services to our emergency care units. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring prompt and efficient medication management for patients admitted to our medical and surgical units, operating 10 hours a day, seven days a week. This includes timely and thorough medicines reconciliation immediately following patient admission, as well as facilitating the swift provision of medications to support the discharge process.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to enhance their clinical expertise and work towards becoming an Independent Prescriber across various medical and surgical disciplines. Additional clinical responsibilities, such as managing an anticoagulation clinic, may also be available. The role requires participation in a rotating schedule, with working hours from 8 am to 6 pm.

Candidates who meet the essential qualifications will be considered for a band 7 position. We also encourage applications from individuals who are in the process of completing the necessary qualifications (such as a clinical diploma). Successful candidates in this category will be offered a band 6 position, with a clear pathway to progress to band 7 upon fulfilling the remaining essential criteria. Comprehensive support for training and professional development will be provided to facilitate this advancement.

This position is vital for delivering high-quality clinical services to newly admitted patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to align with the values of our organization. Effective delegation and teamwork, coupled with a positive and proactive attitude, are essential for success in this role.
