A remarkable opportunity exists for a Firmware Manager with substantial Firmware/FPGA expertise and relevant leadership experience to join our Firmware team. This role necessitates a solid foundational understanding of FPGA design and proven experience in leading a small group of engineers to manage and deliver intricate work packages from initial concept to final product.

You will collaborate within a team, providing specialized support for the design and development of high-performance, world-class motor drive systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in electronics engineering. Proficient with FPGA tools and technologies (e.g., Microchip, Xilinx, SoC, Modelsim, Matlab, Simulink). Demonstrate practical experience in FPGA design and verification (VHDL), including requirements capture, simulation, code coverage, synthesis, place & route, and timing analysis & closure. Experience in configuration management of large, complex FPGA designs. Ability to work closely with other engineering disciplines. Proven success in delivering and managing multiple concurrent complex work packages. Provide technical direction and leadership to coordinate a team for design and verification tasks. Lead the team in design, development, prototyping, verification, and delivery of DO254 compliant FPGAs. Cultivate a high-performance engineering team, focusing on goal setting, coaching, monitoring, training, and career development. Encourage the team to adopt innovative approaches to problem-solving, design implementation, process development, and quality assurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a Manager, team lead, or Principal firmware engineer with over 5 years in FPGA/ASIC. Familiarity with Agile methodologies (particularly SCRUM & Kanban). Understanding of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and SysML. Knowledge of communication protocols, DSP, or VLSI mathematical functions. Experience in System on Chip (SoC) design targeting FPGA or ASIC. Familiarity with applying control laws within FPGA applications. Knowledge of motor control systems and sensing components (e.g., LVDT, Resolvers). Experience with military or aerospace designs compliant with RTCA/DO-254.
