We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our corporate system safety governance department at our Shirley, Solihull location.
Key Responsibilities as Safety Expert
- Conduct independent reviews and assessments of automotive embedded systems to ensure conformity to ISO objectives, including chassis systems, ADAS systems, and vehicle level functions.
- Provide safety status reports to top-management as part of ZF's overall risk management process.
- Escalate system safety issues to top-management and offer expertise to facilitate solution of findings observed in Confirmation Reviews and audits.
- Take responsibility for series-releases from a safety perspective, including veto-right to stop series releases.
- Collaborate with development teams to agree on improvement actions and track progress towards overall excellence in functional safety.
- Work on a synergistic approach between functional safety, SOTIF, and cyber security to provide comprehensive protection of our systems.
Your Profile as Embedded Systems Specialist
- Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical areas.
- 10 years of professional experience in the development of safe embedded systems, such as safety engineer or functional safety manager.
- Strong experience with safety standards, especially ISO, and related methodologies.
- Ability to maintain an independent mindset while acting with practical experience.
- Willingness to travel (up to 30%), business-fluent English speaker, German is a bonus.
