Job Title: Health Records Clerk

Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Health Records Clerk. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient storage, retrieval, and management of patient health records.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the secure and accountable storage of patients' health records in our off-site facility and in the Deceased Library Area.
  • Coordinate the retrieval and delivery of missing notes to various services throughout the Trust.
  • Collect and amalgamate notes from wards with original records.
  • Prepare notes for Outpatient clinics to ensure updated demographic information and referral letters are included.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on all health records.
  • Cull and destroy health records according to NHS guidelines.
  • Distribute and manage the delivery of notes throughout the Trust via the Transit Area at Medway.
  • Effectively coordinate the delivery of notes between both sites.
  • Digital Health Records Clerk (Scanning Team) - Collect, prepare, scan, and quality-check patient notes.

Qualifications:

  • Good General Education to O' Level or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Ability to adapt to challenging and changing situations/demands and able to support colleagues through stressful situations, including flexibility to provide cover.
  • Admin/office experience, with a strong interest in providing a quality service to support excellent patient care and experience.
