Nursing Team Manager for Surgical Services

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a proactive and skilled Clinical Scientist to oversee the surgical department.
The Surgical Ward 3 at King's College Hospital is in search of a motivated and assertive professional to guide the team in this dynamic surgical environment.
This ward accommodates 20 beds dedicated to female surgical patients, providing care for both acute and elective cases.
Specializing in gynaecology and general surgery, patients are admitted from various sources including emergency services, outpatient clinics, surgical theatres, and intensive care units.
Candidates must exhibit outstanding leadership and interpersonal capabilities. Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
- Taking charge of the surgical ward and providing clinical leadership to the nursing team.
- Leading and developing the nursing staff in the care of surgical patients while enhancing clinical competencies.
- Delivering expert, holistic care of the highest standard to patients and their families within the institution.
- Acting as a clinical resource within the ward and across the Care Group as needed.
- Serving as an effective clinical leader and role model with strong delegation and supervisory skills.
- Ensuring safe and effective nursing practices that provide high-quality care to patients and their families.
- Managing staff responsibilities to ensure safety, effectiveness, and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Actively participating in recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team and ward leadership to enhance patient care and experience.
